Stiloz 50 Tablet is used to improve walking distance and reduce leg pain in people with intermittent claudication, which is cramping leg pain on walking caused by poor blood flow to the legs. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing cilostazol, which belongs to a class of medicines called phosphodiesterase 3 (PDE3) inhibitors.
This medicine helps widen the blood vessels in the legs and reduces the tendency of blood cells to clump, improving blood flow to the muscles. Take it either 30 minutes before or 2 hours after meals, as advised by your doctor. It may take a few weeks to notice improvement, and your doctor will review whether it is helping after a few months.
Stopping smoking is one of the most important steps for improving leg circulation. Regular walking, as advised by your doctor, along with controlling blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol, can also improve symptoms. Avoid grapefruit juice while taking this medicine.
Do not take this medicine if you have heart failure. Before starting, tell your doctor if you have any heart condition, a bleeding disorder, a recent stroke or bleed, a stomach ulcer, or liver or kidney disease, and about all other medicines you take, especially blood thinners. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Seek medical help if you have chest pain, a very fast or irregular heartbeat, fainting, or unusual bleeding. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
