CompositionLizolid-600 Tablet is used to treat serious bacterial infections such as pneumonia and complicated skin or soft-tissue infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including some that resist common antibiotics. It does not work against viral infections.
It contains linezolid, an oxazolidinone antibiotic. It works by stopping bacteria making the proteins they need, which halts their growth.
Take it exactly as prescribed and complete the full course. While taking it, limit foods and drinks that are very high in tyramine, such as mature cheese and fermented products.
Tell your doctor about any blood disorders, vision changes or other medicines, especially antidepressants, before treatment. With longer courses your doctor may check your blood counts, and you should report unusual bruising, bleeding or vision changes.
