Stener 60 Mg Injection is used to prevent and treat deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism, and to lower the risk of stroke in people at risk of blood clots. It helps stop clots from growing and reduces the chance of new clots forming in the veins. It contains enoxaparin.
This medicine is a low molecular weight heparin (LMWH), a type of anticoagulant that thins the blood. It is given as an injection under the skin, usually by a doctor or nurse, and is also used with aspirin to manage unstable angina and certain heart attacks. Continue having the injections for the full course prescribed by your doctor, even if you feel well, to gain complete protection against clots.
Staying as mobile as your doctor advises, drinking enough fluids and wearing any compression stockings recommended after surgery all help lower the risk of clots forming. Take extra care to avoid cuts, falls or contact sports, as this medicine increases the chance of bruising and bleeding.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor if you have a bleeding disorder, stomach ulcers, kidney problems, or are taking other blood-thinning medicines. Tell your doctor straight away if you notice unusual bruising, bleeding from the gums or nose, blood in your urine or stools, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
