Stemin 0.5 Tablet is used to manage inflammation and pain caused by conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and other musculoskeletal injuries. It also helps treat a range of inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, including asthma, dermatitis, psoriasis and lupus.
It belongs to the corticosteroid group of medicines, which work by reducing inflammation and calming an overactive immune response. Take it exactly as prescribed, with or without food as advised. Do not stop taking it suddenly; your doctor will usually reduce the dose gradually when treatment ends.
Corticosteroids can raise blood sugar and weaken bones with prolonged use, so a diet rich in calcium and vitamin D, along with regular weight-bearing exercise, is often recommended. Limiting salt intake can also help manage fluid retention while on this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, glaucoma, a history of stomach ulcers, osteoporosis, or a mental health condition. This medicine can increase your risk of infections, so tell your doctor if you notice fever or other signs of infection. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless advised by your doctor.
