Soliwax Ear Drops is used to soften and loosen hard, impacted earwax so it can clear or be removed more easily. It is a combination medicine containing paradichlorobenzene, chlorbutol, benzocaine and turpentine oil, and belongs to a group of medicines called cerumenolytics (earwax softeners).
This medicine relieves the blocked feeling, itching and muffled hearing caused by earwax build-up, and may be used to soften wax before ear cleaning by a doctor. Tilt your head with the affected ear facing up, put in the drops as directed, and stay in that position for a few minutes.
Avoid putting cotton buds, hairpins or other objects into your ear, as this can push wax deeper or damage the eardrum.
These drops are for use in the ear only. Do not use them if you have a perforated eardrum, ear discharge, ear pain or have had ear surgery, unless your doctor advises. Tell your doctor about any allergies and other ear medicines you use. Stop and see your doctor if you have pain, dizziness, discharge or worsening hearing. Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
