Sirotrans 1 Tablet 10

Sirotrans 1 Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Prevention of kidney transplant rejection

• Management of immunosuppression after transplantation

• Treatment of sporadic lymphangioleiomyomatosis in women

• Supporting organ transplant maintenance therapy

• Reducing the risk of transplanted kidney failure

• Management of certain cancers under medical supervision

• Controlling excessive immune responses in transplant patients

• Preventing antibody formation against transplanted kidneys

Follow these instructions while taking the Sirotrans 1 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Take it consistently, either with food or without food, each time.

• Avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice during treatment.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• Continue taking this medicine regularly as advised by your doctor.

• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's nearly time for your next dose.

Sirotrans 1 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Sirotrans 1 Tablet 10 contains Sirolimus (1 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• T-lymphocyte inhibition: Sirolimus blocks specific cell-signalling proteins that normally boost immune responses. This dampens your body's ability to mount a strong immune reaction against the transplanted organ.

• B-lymphocyte suppression: The medicine reduces the production of antibodies by B-lymphocytes. Antibodies are proteins that your immune system normally produces to fight foreign substances, but in transplant patients, they can attack the new organ.

• Immune response modulation: By affecting both T and B cells, sirolimus helps prevent your immune system from recognising and attacking the transplanted kidney as foreign tissue.

• Store Sirotrans 1 Tablet 10 at room temperature below 25°C.

• Keep the tablets in their original container, away from excessive heat, humidity, and direct sunlight.

• Do not store in bathrooms where humidity levels fluctuate.

• Keep all medicines securely out of reach of children.

• Check the expiry date before use and discard any unused medicine after this date.

• Use adequate sun protection and limit sun exposure, as sirolimus increases your risk of skin cancer while managing transplant rejection.

• Because sirolimus suppresses the immune system, you’re more prone to infections. Wash your hands frequently and avoid close contact with sick individuals.
