Sebuxo Tablet 10

Sebuxo Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Chronic management of hyperuricemia in adult patients with gout: This condition is characterised by an excess of uric acid in the blood, leading to painful gout attacks.
• For patients with an inadequate response to allopurinol: This medicine is a good alternative when maximum doses of allopurinol don't provide enough relief.
• In cases where allopurinol use is not advisable or causes intolerance: If you're unable to take allopurinol due to its side effects or other health conditions, Sebuxo Tablet 10 offers a viable solution.

• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water.
• Avoid chewing or crushing it, as this can affect how the medicine works.
• You can take the tablet with or without food, depending on your preference.
• Try to take this medicine at the same time each day to maintain consistent levels in your body.
• If you need to adjust your dose, consult your doctor first rather than making changes on your own.

Sebuxo Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Sebuxo Tablet 10 contains febuxostat (40 mg), which acts in the body as follows:

• Xanthine oxidase inhibition: Febuxostat inhibits an enzyme called xanthine oxidase. This enzyme plays a crucial role in producing uric acid in your body.
• Uric acid reduction: By effectively blocking the activity of xanthine oxidase, febuxostat reduces the production of uric acid. Lowering serum uric acid levels prevents the formation of urate crystals in joints, which are responsible for causing painful gout attacks.

• Store Sebuxo Tablet 10 at a cool room temperature in a place not exposed to sunlight or moisture.
• Ensure the medicine is kept in its original packaging.

• Reduce your consumption of foods high in purines, such as red meat and seafood. Purines can increase uric acid levels, worsening your condition.
• Alcohol can also increase uric acid levels. It's advisable to limit or avoid alcohol intake while treating gout with Sebuxo Tablet 10.
