Predus 16 MG Tablet 10 is used to treat severe flare-ups of conditions driven by inflammation or an overactive immune system, such as severe asthma, skin allergies and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis or lupus. It is also used to reduce swelling around the brain or spine after injury.
It contains methylprednisolone, a corticosteroid. Take it with food, exactly as prescribed. If used for more than a few days, do not stop it abruptly; your doctor will give a step-down ("tapering") schedule to stop it safely.
As steroids can affect the bones, blood sugar and fluid balance, a diet with enough calcium and vitamin D and limited added salt may be advised, along with regular monitoring.
Tell your doctor about any infections, diabetes, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers or glaucoma before starting, and about other medicines you take. Let your doctor know if you are exposed to infections such as chickenpox, or if you notice a marked change in mood.
