Pradaxa 110 Capsule is used to prevent and treat blood clots and to lower the risk of stroke in people with an irregular heart rhythm.

Uses of Pradaxa 110 Capsule are:

• Stroke Prevention: Helps reduce the risk of stroke in adults with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.
• Treating and Preventing Clots: Treats clots in the legs and lungs and helps prevent them returning.
• After Surgery: Helps prevent clots after hip replacement surgery.

Follow these guidelines while taking Pradaxa 110 Capsule:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.

• Do not break, chew, or open the capsule.

• Always take this medicine exactly as recommended by your doctor.

Pradaxa 110 Capsule is taken orally.

Pradaxa 110 Capsule contains Dabigatran Etexilate (110 mg) which acts on your body through the following mechanisms:

• Conversion to Active Form: Following oral administration, Dabigatran Etexilate undergoes conversion into its active form, dabigatran, through esterase-catalyzed hydrolysis in the gut and liver. This process allows the medicine to become available for action in the body.

• Thrombin Inhibition: Dabigatran acts as a potent, competitive, reversible direct thrombin inhibitor. Thrombin is a key enzyme in the process of blood clotting. By inhibiting thrombin, dabigatran prevents the formation of blood clots.

• Inhibition of Platelet Aggregation: Apart from blocking thrombin, dabigatran also inhibits thrombin-induced platelet aggregation. Platelets are small blood cells that clump together to form a clot. By inhibiting their aggregation, dabigatran further reduces the risk of blood clot formation.

• Store Pradaxa 110 Capsule securely in its original packaging to protect from moisture.

• Keep it at room temperature, ideally around 25°C.

• Keep the medicine away from direct sunlight and heat.

• Ensure it's kept out of reach of children.
