POTRATE 10 TABLET 10 may interact with the following medicines:

• Antihypertensive medicines including ACE inhibitors and ARBs (e.g., enalapril, losartan): Taking these medicines together with potassium citrate may increase potassium levels in the blood and increase the risk of hyperkalaemia. Monitoring of serum potassium may be required during treatment.
• Potassium-sparing diuretics (e.g., spironolactone, amiloride): Concurrent use may significantly increase potassium levels and increase the risk of serious heart rhythm problems or cardiac arrest. Combined use is generally avoided.
• NSAID medicines (e.g., ibuprofen, diclofenac): These medicines may reduce potassium excretion and increase the risk of elevated potassium levels in susceptible individuals. Monitoring may be advised during treatment.
• Anticholinergic medicines (e.g., atropine, dicyclomine): These medicines may slow gastrointestinal transit and increase the risk of stomach or intestinal irritation associated with potassium salts. Careful monitoring may be required.
• Digitalis preparations (e.g., digoxin): Changes in potassium levels may affect heart rhythm and increase the risk of digitalis toxicity in some individuals. Monitoring may be required during treatment.

POTRATE 10 TABLET 10 may interact with the following foods and beverages:

• High-potassium foods (e.g., bananas, apricots, spinach, potatoes): Excessive intake along with potassium citrate may increase potassium levels in the blood and increase the risk of hyperkalaemia in susceptible individuals. Dietary potassium intake may need monitoring during treatment.

POTRATE 10 TABLET 10 should be used with caution if you have:

• Peptic ulcer disease: Potassium citrate may worsen stomach irritation or gastrointestinal ulceration in some individuals.
• Intestinal obstruction or delayed gastric emptying: Delayed passage of the tablet through the gastrointestinal tract may increase the risk of local irritation or ulceration.
• Urinary tract infection: Increased urinary pH may promote bacterial growth in some urinary infections and may reduce treatment effectiveness.
• Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus: Patients with uncontrolled diabetes may have an increased risk of hyperkalaemia during treatment. Monitoring may be required.

Overdose of POTRATE 10 TABLET 10 may increase the risk of hyperkalaemia, which may cause muscle weakness, abnormal heartbeat, chest discomfort, paralysis, or serious heart-related complications. Seek immediate medical attention if overdose is suspected.

If you miss a dose of POTRATE 10 TABLET 10, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take extra doses to compensate for the missed dose.
