Pipaz 1.125 Injection is used to manage bacterial infections across the body, including lower respiratory, urinary, intra-abdominal, skin and soft tissue, pelvic, and bloodstream infections, and bacterial meningitis.

Uses of Pipaz 1.125 Injection are:

• Respiratory and Urinary Infections: Treats pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, and complicated urinary tract infections.
• Intra-Abdominal and Pelvic Infections: Treats peritonitis, appendicitis, and female pelvic infections such as postpartum endometritis.
• Skin and Bloodstream Infections: Treats cellulitis, postsurgical wound infections, and bacteraemia.
• Meningitis and Fever in Neutropenia: Used for bacterial meningitis, especially in infants and children, and for fever in neutropenic patients suspected of bacterial infection.

Pipaz 1.125 Injection 1 contains two active ingredients:

• Piperacillin (1000 mg): This element is a broad-spectrum semisynthetic penicillin antibiotic that works by hindering the development of bacterial cell walls. It attaches to and nullifies enzymes known as penicillin-binding proteins which play a vital role in creating bacterial cell walls. Ultimately, this disruption leads to the breakdown and death of bacteria.

• Tazobactam (125 mg): This component is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which works in tandem with piperacillin to tackle bacterial resistance. Certain bacteria produce beta-lactamase enzymes that can break down penicillins and make them ineffective. Tazobactam binds to these enzymes and inhibits them permanently which safeguards piperacillin from degradation and expands its antibacterial spectrum of activity.

• Store Pipaz 1.125 Injection 1 at controlled room temperature.
