Peptard 20 Tablet is a medicine used to treat severe heartburn, acid reflux (GERD), and stomach ulcers. It is also used to prevent ulcers in people taking medicines that can irritate the stomach.
It contains rabeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces stomach acid production, allowing the lining of the food pipe and stomach to heal. Take it on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before breakfast, and swallow it whole without crushing or chewing.
Avoiding spicy, oily, and acidic foods, eating smaller meals, and limiting tea, coffee, and alcohol can help reduce acidity and support healing.
Consult your doctor before starting this medicine, especially if you need to take it for a long time, as it can affect the absorption of certain vitamins and minerals. Inform your doctor if you notice persistent stomach pain, black stools, or difficulty swallowing.
