Otofungin Ear Drops 15Ml

Otofungin Ear Drops 15ml is indicated for treating fungal ear canal infections and relieving associated localised ear discomfort in adults and children.

Uses of Otofungin Ear Drops 15ml are:

• Fungal Ear Infections: Eradicating fungal growth in the outer ear canal (otomycosis).
• Ear Pain Relief: Soothing localised ear ache and discomfort.
• Itching & Irritation Relief: Reducing redness, itching, and canal inflammation.

Follow these instructions while using Otofungin Ear Drops 15ml:

• Use the drops exactly as advised by your doctor.
• Wash your hands before and after application.
• Clean and gently dry the outer ear before use.
• Tilt the head or lie down with the affected ear facing upward.
• Instil the prescribed drops into the ear canal.
• Keep the head tilted for a few minutes to allow the medicine to spread properly.
• Avoid touching the dropper tip to the ear or any surface to prevent contamination.

Otofungin Ear Drops 15ml is instilled into the ear canal.

Otofungin Ear Drops 15ml contains the following components:

• Clotrimazole (1%): This antifungal medicine works by disrupting the fungal cell membrane, leading to the destruction of fungi responsible for ear infection. By eliminating fungal growth, it helps reduce itching, discharge, and irritation while allowing the ear canal to heal.
• Lidocaine / Lignocaine (2.5%): This is a local anaesthetic that temporarily blocks nerve signals in the ear canal, providing relief from pain, burning, and discomfort associated with infection and inflammation, making treatment more comfortable.

• Store below 25°C away from heat and direct sunlight.
• Keep the bottle tightly closed after use.
• Store in a clean, dry place.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date.

• Keep the ear dry during treatment: Avoid allowing water to enter the affected ear while bathing or washing hair, as moisture can encourage fungal growth and delay healing. Your doctor may advise using ear protection during bathing if needed.
• Avoid inserting objects into the ear: Do not use cotton buds, fingers, or other objects to clean the ear canal, as this may worsen irritation, push debris deeper, or delay recovery.
• Avoid swimming until infection improves: Swimming or prolonged exposure to water may worsen fungal infection or delay healing. Resume swimming only after your doctor confirms improvement.
• Maintain ear hygiene without over-cleaning: Clean only the outer ear gently and avoid excessive cleaning of the ear canal, as natural ear wax helps protect against infection.
