Odicef O Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, urinary tract, ears, throat, and sinuses. It is also prescribed for typhoid fever and certain sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhoea, and is often used in people who are allergic to penicillin.
It is a combination of cefixime, a cephalosporin antibiotic, and ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. Take it strictly as prescribed and complete the full course of treatment, even if your symptoms improve early, to prevent the infection from returning and to help avoid antibiotic resistance.
Drinking plenty of water and getting adequate rest can support your body while you recover from the infection. Avoid taking this medicine with dairy products, antacids, or iron and calcium supplements at the same time, as they may reduce how well it is absorbed.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, epilepsy, or a history of tendon problems, or if you are taking other medicines. Contact your doctor if you notice tendon pain, a skin rash, or signs of an allergic reaction. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
