Obetohep-10 Tablet is used in adults with primary biliary cholangitis for second-line liver protection when UDCA alone is insufficient.

Uses of Obetohep-10 Tablet are:

• Primary Biliary Cholangitis: Slows liver damage and bile duct destruction by activating FXR receptors to reduce toxic bile acid production.
• Second-line Therapy: Used in patients with an inadequate response to UDCA, helping maintain liver health and delay disease progression.

• Swallow the entire tablet without crushing or breaking it. 
• Take it with or without food, but it is recommended at a fixed daily time for better results.

Obetohep-10 Tablet is taken orally.

Obetohep-10 Tablet contains the following components:

• Obeticholic acid (10 mg): It is a farnesoid X receptor (FXR) agonist that activates a receptor called farnesoid X receptor (FXR) in the liver. FXR activation helps regulate the production of bile acids, reducing their accumulation in the liver. Obeticholic acid also has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce liver inflammation caused by the buildup of bile. By modulating bile acid levels and reducing inflammation, this tablet helps protect liver cells from damage. It enhances bile flow from the liver to the small intestine, preventing bile from backing up into the liver.

• Obetohep-10 Tablet should be stored at room temperature, at 25°C.
