Nifedules RT 20 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and to help prevent angina (chest pain) in adults. Keeping blood pressure under control helps lower the risk of serious problems such as heart attack and stroke, particularly in people at high risk.
It contains nifedipine, part of a group of medicines called calcium channel blockers, in a retard (RT) slow-release form. It works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily and the heart does not have to work as hard. Swallow the tablet whole and take it as directed by your doctor.
Healthy lifestyle changes support treatment alongside this medicine. These include reducing salt in your diet, staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any heart or liver problems or other medicines you take. Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice while taking it, as they can affect how it works. Mild ankle swelling, flushing, or headache can occur, especially at first; tell your doctor if these persist.
