Nextane Ophthalmic Solution is used to manage mild to severe dry eye syndrome by providing soothing and long-lasting moisture. It is also helpful after eye surgeries and in the healing of corneal burns by protecting and restoring the eye surface.

Follow these instructions while using Nextane Ophthalmic Solution:

• Ensure your hands are clean prior to use.

• Tilt your head backwards and look up, pulling down your lower eyelid gently to form a small pocket.

• Squeeze the prescribed amount of drops into this pocket without touching the dropper tip to your eye or any surface.

• Close your eyes and press a finger gently into the corner of your eye near the nose for 1-2 minutes. This helps keep the drops from draining away.

• Wait for at least 5–10 minutes before using other eye medications.

Nextane Ophthalmic Solution contain sodium hyaluronate (0.1%), which has several mechanisms of action:

• Moisturising Agent: Sodium hyaluronate acts as a moisturiser for the eyes. By retaining water, it helps to keep the eye surface moist and comfortable.

• Lubricating Property: It serves as a lubricant for the eyes, reducing friction and discomfort when blinking.

• Stabilises Tear Film: Sodium hyaluronate increases the viscosity of the tear film that coats the eye surface. This enhanced tear film spreads evenly over the eye surface and reduces its evaporation.

• Promotes Healing: The ingredient exhibits mild wound healing properties that aid in recovery of the eye surface in dry eye disease.

• Store Nextane Ophthalmic Solution at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C.

• Keep the bottle tightly sealed when not in use to avoid exposure to air and moisture.

• Avoid storing in direct sunlight or high-heat areas.

• Always keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• Stay adequately hydrated. Dry eyes can be exacerbated by dehydration, so make sure you consume enough fluids throughout your day.

• Try to reduce screen time. Prolonged use of digital devices can lead to dry eye symptoms. If you must work on a screen for long periods, take frequent breaks and practise the 20-20-20 rule: Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
