Multivit Injection 10 ML

Multivit Injection is used for the following:

• Prevention of vitamin deficiencies during parenteral nutrition

• Supplementation in patients with inadequate oral diets

• Nutritional support for patients with increased vitamin needs

• Management of vitamin deficiencies in burn patients

• Support during peritoneal dialysis treatment

• Vitamin supplementation in acute kidney failure

• Correction of multiple vitamin deficiencies

• Nutritional support when oral intake is restricted

• Vitamin replenishment in malnourished patients

• Support during recovery from major illnesses

Follow these instructions when administering Multivit Injection:

• This medicine must only be administered intravenously after dilution.

• Dilute in a larger volume parenteral nutrition solution before use.

• Administer the injection slowly, not exceeding 1 mL per minute.

• Store the vials in their original carton to protect from light.

• Discard any unused portion after opening the vial.

• Consult your doctor for specific administration instructions.

Multivit Injection is administered intravenously.

Multivit Injection contains nine essential vitamins that work in different ways to support your body's functions:

• D-Panthenol (25 mg): Acts as a precursor to coenzyme A, which is essential for metabolising fats and carbohydrates in your body.

• Niacinamide (25 mg): Converts to important compounds called NAD and NADP, which play crucial roles in energy production pathways within your cells.

• Riboflavin (10 mg): Functions as a coenzyme in numerous oxidation-reduction reactions, helping your body break down proteins, fats, and carbohydrates.

• Thiamine (10 mg): Works as a coenzyme in carbohydrate metabolism, supporting proper nervous system function.

• Vitamin A (10,000 IU): Necessary for vision, immune function, and helps cells differentiate properly throughout your body.

• Pyridoxine (15 mg): Serves as a coenzyme in protein metabolism and helps produce neurotransmitters that regulate brain function.

• Ascorbic Acid (50 mg): Acts as an antioxidant, protects cells from damage, and is required for collagen synthesis and iron absorption.

• Cholecalciferol (1,000 IU): Regulates calcium and phosphate levels in your bloodstream, promoting healthy bone mineralisation.

• Vitamin E (0.005 mg): Functions as an antioxidant that protects cell membranes from oxidative damage.

• Store Multivit Injection in its original carton.

• Protect the vials from light exposure.

• Once diluted, solutions remain stable for 24 hours at room temperature or 72 hours if refrigerated.

• Discard any unused portion after opening.

• Keep all medicines out of sight and reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.

• If you are receiving Multivit Injection due to nutritional deficiencies, try to gradually incorporate vitamin-rich foods into your diet as tolerated, such as fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins.

• For patients with increased vitamin requirements (such as those with burns or kidney conditions), ensure adequate hydration by drinking 8-10 glasses of water daily to support your body's metabolic functions.
