Mesahenz 800 Tablet 10

MESAHENZ 800 TABLET 10 is used for the following:

• Treatment of mild to moderate ulcerative colitis

• Managing active Crohn's ileocolitis

• Reducing intestinal inflammation

• Preventing flare-ups of inflammatory bowel disease

• Maintaining periods of disease remission

• Alleviating inflammation of the colon lining

• Relief of intestinal ulceration

• Controlling intestinal bleeding in bowel conditions

• Suppressing inflammatory pathways in the gut

Follow these instructions while taking MESAHENZ 800 TABLET 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, break or chew the tablet.

• Take the medicine either 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.

• Continue taking this medicine for the full course prescribed by your doctor.

• If you have trouble swallowing the tablet, consult your doctor.

MESAHENZ 800 TABLET 10 is taken orally.

MESAHENZ 800 TABLET 10 contains mesalamine (800 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Prostaglandin inhibition: Mesalamine works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, which are chemicals in your body that cause inflammation in the gut lining.

• Leukotriene reduction: It decreases the production of leukotrienes, another group of inflammatory substances contributing to intestinal inflammation.

• Antioxidant action: Mesalamine is a potent antioxidant that neutralises harmful free radicals that can damage intestinal tissue.

• Local anti-inflammatory effect: The medicine works topically at the site of inflammation in your colon, reducing swelling, bleeding, and ulceration in the affected areas.

• pH-sensitive delivery: The tablet's special coating ensures the medicine is released specifically into the inflamed areas of your intestines.

• Store MESAHENZ 800 TABLET 10 in a cool, dry place at room temperature (20-25°C).

• Keep away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture.

• Do not store in the bathroom or kitchen where humidity levels fluctuate.

• Keep out of sight and reach of children.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the packaging.

• Low-residue diet during flares: When experiencing symptoms of ulcerative colitis or Crohn's ileocolitis, try eating low-fibre foods like white bread, white rice, and well-cooked vegetables without skin to reduce bowel irritation.

• Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day as diarrhoea from inflammatory bowel disease can lead to dehydration, which may worsen your symptoms.
