Medicaine Gel is used to relieve symptoms of gastrointestinal disorders such as acidity, heartburn and stomach ulcers, including duodenal ulcers. It is a combination medicine containing antacids and a local anaesthetic.
It contains aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide, which neutralise excess stomach acid, and oxetacaine, a local anaesthetic that temporarily relieves pain from the irritated stomach lining. Take the oral gel exactly as prescribed for the recommended duration.
Avoiding spicy, fatty or acidic foods, and eating smaller, more frequent meals, can help reduce acidity alongside this medicine.
If you experience any side effects or persistent symptoms, contact your healthcare provider immediately, and inform them of any other medicines you are taking.
