Mamofen 20 Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Treatment of breast cancer

• Prevention of breast cancer in high-risk women

• Management of hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer

• Blocking oestrogen effects on breast tissue

• Treatment of breast cancer in pre-menopausal women

• Management of breast cancer in post-menopausal women

• Reducing the risk of cancer recurrence

• Management of certain infertility issues

Follow these instructions while taking Mamofen 20 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• Take this medicine at the same time each day.

• You can take it with or without food.

Mamofen 20 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Mamofen 20 Tablet 10 contains tamoxifen (20 mg), which works on the body in the following ways:

• Anti-oestrogenic action: Tamoxifen competitively binds to oestrogen receptors in breast tissue, preventing natural oestrogen from attaching to these receptors.

• Cancer cell growth inhibition: By blocking oestrogen from binding to receptors, it helps prevent the stimulation and growth of cancer cells that depend on oestrogen for their development.

• Selective modulation: It acts as a selective oestrogen receptor modulator (SERM), meaning it blocks oestrogen's effects in breast tissue while mimicking some of oestrogen's beneficial effects in other tissues.

• Hormone-receptor positive cancer management: It is particularly effective against breast cancers that test positive for hormone receptors, as these cancers rely on oestrogen to grow.

• Store Mamofen 20 Tablet 10 at room temperature.

• Protect from moisture and direct sunlight.

• Store out of reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Include calcium-rich foods in your diet (like dairy products, leafy greens, and fortified foods) to help maintain healthy calcium levels during your breast cancer management.

• Regular physical activity, such as brisk walking for 30 minutes daily, can help manage side effects like fluid retention that may occur while taking Mamofen 20 Tablet 10.
