CompositionMAMOFEN 20 Tablet is used for the treatment of breast cancer in both pre- and post-menopausal women. It contains tamoxifen, a selective oestrogen receptor modulator (SERM), and is also used to prevent breast cancer in women at high risk.
Tamoxifen works by blocking the effect of oestrogen on breast tissue, which slows or stops the growth of hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer cells and reduces the risk of cancer developing in women at high risk.
Take this tablet daily, with or without food, at the same time each day, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and continue for the full duration recommended, which is often several years.
Tell your doctor if you have a history of blood clots, as tamoxifen increases the risk of clot formation. Report any leg swelling or pain, sudden breathlessness, unusual vaginal bleeding, or vision changes promptly, and this medicine is not suitable during pregnancy.
