CompositionMagpep Itr Capsule 10 is a combination prescription medicine used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, acid indigestion, and functional dyspepsia in adults. It effectively relieves distressing symptoms such as heartburn, upper abdominal pain, acid regurgitation, chest discomfort, and difficulty swallowing.
It combines omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that significantly decreases stomach acid production, and itopride, a prokinetic agent that enhances gastrointestinal motility and speeds up stomach emptying. Swallow the capsule whole with water on an empty stomach, preferably 30 to 60 minutes before a meal in the morning as prescribed. Do not crush or chew the capsule.
Specific dietary and lifestyle modifications support acid reflux management. Eat smaller, more frequent meals, avoid lying down immediately after eating, limit spicy, fatty, acidic, or caffeinated foods, avoid alcohol and smoking, and maintain a healthy weight.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have severe liver disease, kidney problems, osteoporosis, low magnesium levels, or gastrointestinal bleeding. Prolonged use should be supervised by a doctor. Contact your doctor if you experience persistent severe abdominal pain, persistent diarrhoea, or unexplained weight loss.
