CompositionLosatan AM Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults, helping lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, kidney damage, and blood vessel damage caused by prolonged high blood pressure. It also helps reduce the risk of stroke in people who have thickening of the heart muscle (left ventricular hypertrophy) linked to high blood pressure.
It contains a combination of losartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, and amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, working together to provide more consistent blood pressure control than either medicine alone. Take it as prescribed, with or without food. Continue taking this medicine regularly even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms; do not stop it suddenly without speaking to your doctor.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying physically active, and limiting alcohol can all help support blood pressure control alongside this medicine.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, low blood pressure, or diabetes, and mention any other medicines you are taking, particularly potassium supplements. Tell your doctor if you notice swelling of the ankles, unusual tiredness, or a fast or irregular heartbeat. This medicine is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
