Uses of Amlodipine + Losartan
Amlodipine + Losartan is primarily used to manage high blood pressure in adults who have not responded adequately to monotherapy with either amlodipine or losartan. It is a combination of two types of medications, namely a calcium channel blocker and an angiotensin II receptor blocker.
Additionally, Losartan, one of the active ingredients in this combination, is indicated for reducing the risk of stroke in patients with high blood pressure and left ventricular hypertrophy (thickening of the heart muscle of the left ventricle).

How Amlodipine + Losartan works

- Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that causes blood vessels to tighten and narrow. By blocking the receptors that angiotensin II binds to, Losartan allows the blood vessels to relax and dilate, reducing blood pressure. It also reduces the amount of fluid retained by the kidneys, which further lowers blood pressure.

Never take two doses at the same time. It is important to take this medicine every day, as prescribed, to keep your blood pressure under control.
Management of Side Effects
Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.
- For dizziness and lightheadedness, try to stand up slowly from a sitting or lying position.
