Kenz Tablet 10

Kenz Tablet 10 is used for managing the following health conditions:

• Systemic fungal infections when other therapies have failed or not tolerated

• Blastomycosis, a serious fungal infection that affects various body parts

• Coccidioidomycosis, an infection caused by inhalation of a fungus found in soil

• Histoplasmosis, a lung infection resulting from a fungus present in bird and bat droppings

• Chromomycosis, a long-term fungal skin infection

• Paracoccidioidomycosis, a serious fungal disease prevalent in Central and South America

Here's how to take Kenz Tablet 10 :

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• Always take this medicine with food to minimise gastric irritation and enhance absorption.

• Do not exceed the prescribed dose without consulting your doctor.

• If you are taking acid-lowering medicines, ensure there is at least a 2-hour gap before or after taking this medicine.

Kenz Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Kenz Tablet 10 contains ketoconazole (200 mg) which has multiple mechanisms of action:

• Inhibition of Ergosterol Synthesis: Ketoconazole works by inhibiting an enzyme known as 14α-demethylase in fungi. This enzyme is responsible for the conversion of lanosterol into ergosterol - a vital component of fungal cell membranes.

• Disruption of Fungal Cell Membrane: By blocking ergosterol synthesis, ketoconazole disrupts the structure and function of the fungal cell membrane. This increased permeability allows leakage of cellular contents leading to cell death and halts fungal growth.

• Reduction in Human Hormone Synthesis: Ketoconazole may also reduce the synthesis of testosterone and cortisol in humans by inhibiting certain enzymes. These effects are usually reversible once you stop taking the medicine.

Store Kenz Tablet 10 in a tightly sealed container.

• Maintain a room temperature below 30°C.

• Keep the medicine out of direct sun light and avoid damp areas.

• Always keep it out of the reach of children.

• Make sure you use the medication before its expiry date.
