Gluriza M 0.5 Tablet 10 is a combination medicine used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when blood glucose is not adequately controlled with a single medicine. It contains glimepiride and metformin, which belong to the sulfonylurea and biguanide classes, respectively.
This medicine is used as an addition to diet and exercise when treatment with a single medicine has not provided adequate blood glucose control, or to replace separate glimepiride and metformin tablets taken at the prescribed doses. It is generally taken with or just after food, and the tablet should be swallowed whole with water without crushing or chewing. Follow your doctor's prescribed dose, frequency and duration.
Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, severe infection, dehydration, heart or breathing problems, or glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency. Inform your doctor about all medicines, supplements and herbal products you take. Tell your doctor if you experience symptoms of low blood sugar, such as sweating, shaking, confusion or unusual hunger, or symptoms such as severe weakness, vomiting or difficulty breathing. This medicine is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Take it only as prescribed and do not stop or change the dose on your own.
