Flutivate Cream 20gm

Flutivate Skin Cream is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory and itchy skin conditions that are responsive to corticosteroid therapy. This cream is highly effective in managing the symptoms of eczema (including atopic dermatitis), psoriasis (excluding widespread plaque psoriasis), various types of dermatitis, and other conditions such as lichen planus. 

Applying Flutivate Skin Cream involves the following steps:

• Ensure that the affected skin area is clean and dry before application.

• Apply a thin film of the cream to the affected areas once or twice daily and rub it in gently.

• If necessary, you can cover the treated area with a dressing after applying the cream.

• Wash your hands after using this cream, unless your hands are being treated.

• Stop using this cream once control over your symptoms is achieved or if no improvement is seen within 2 weeks; consult your doctor for further advice in such cases.

Flutivate Skin Cream is applied topically.

Flutivate Skin Cream contains fluticasone propionate (0.05%). Its action on the body can be described as follows:

• Anti-inflammatory: Fluticasone propionate is a synthetic corticosteroid which reduces inflammation in the body. It does this by inducing proteins called lipocortins that inhibit the release of arachidonic acid. This eventually leads to lesser production of inflammation mediators like prostaglandins and leukotrienes.

• Antipruritic: Fluticasone propionate helps in reducing itchiness associated with skin conditions.

• Vasoconstrictive: Fluticasone propionate causes narrowing of blood vessels, reducing redness and swelling on the skin.

The exact mechanisms behind how fluticasone propionate achieves these effects are still not completely understood but it's believed to interact with certain receptors in our cells leading to these responses.

• Keep the Flutivate Skin Cream in a cool and dry place, ideally not exceeding 25°C.

• Avoid placing it in the refrigerator or freezer.

• Ensure the tube is tightly closed when not in use.

• Store the cream out of reach of children to prevent accidental ingestion or application.

• If you're managing a skin condition with Flutivate Skin Cream, try to maintain a balanced diet rich in antioxidants. Foods like berries, kale, and spinach are excellent for supporting skin health.

• Avoid excessive sun exposure as it can trigger or worsen inflammatory skin conditions. Always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen when going outside during peak sunlight hours.
