Flutivate E 0.05% Cream is used to relieve inflammation, itching and redness in skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing fluticasone propionate in a moisturising base, and belongs to a class of medicines called topical corticosteroids (steroids).
This medicine is also used for psoriasis and other inflammatory skin conditions that respond to steroids. The moisturising base helps soothe dry skin. Apply a thin layer to the affected area as directed by your doctor, and use it only for the time prescribed.
Moisturising regularly, using a mild, fragrance-free cleanser and avoiding known irritants can help control flare-ups.
This cream is for use on the skin only. Before using it, tell your doctor if you have a skin infection, acne, rosacea or a rash around the mouth, and about other skin products you use. Do not use it on the face, on broken skin or under airtight dressings unless your doctor advises, and use it with care in children. Long use of a steroid cream can thin the skin. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
