It belongs to a group of medicines called low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) anticoagulants. It is given by injection, often into the fatty layer under the skin, exactly as prescribed by your doctor or nurse. It is also used with aspirin to manage unstable angina and certain heart attacks.
Gentle movement or walking, as advised by your doctor, and avoiding prolonged periods of immobility can help support healthy blood flow alongside this medicine.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor about any bleeding problems, stomach ulcers, kidney problems or other medicines you take, especially other blood thinners. Report unusual bruising, bleeding, or dark stools to your doctor immediately.
