Eterna-MD Tablet is used to prevent and control nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy, radiation therapy to the abdomen, and surgical procedures. It is an important part of anti-nausea treatment for patients undergoing these therapies.
It contains ondansetron, a selective serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonist. It works by blocking the action of serotonin in the gut and the brain's vomiting centre, which triggers the feeling of nausea and the urge to vomit.
Take the tablet as directed by your doctor, usually before each chemotherapy session or radiotherapy treatment, and at a set time after surgery. The orally disintegrating formulation dissolves on the tongue without water.
Headache and constipation are common and tend to settle after the treatment period. Tell your doctor about any heart rhythm problems, liver disease, or other medications you are taking before use.
