It is a combination medicine containing doxycycline, a broad-spectrum antibiotic, together with a probiotic (helpful gut bacteria) that supports gut health and helps reduce the risk of antibiotic-associated loose motions. Take it with plenty of water and avoid lying down straight afterwards. Complete the full course as prescribed and do not stop it early, even if you feel better.
Drinking plenty of fluids supports recovery. Because doxycycline can increase sensitivity to sunlight, using sun protection and avoiding strong sun helps prevent skin reactions during treatment.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems, or are taking other medicines. Avoid taking it at the same time as milk, antacids, or iron, which can reduce its absorption. It is not suitable for young children or during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as it can affect developing teeth and bones.
