Dibizide-M Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes by lowering blood sugar levels. It combines glimepiride, a sulphonylurea, with metformin, a biguanide, and helps support overall blood sugar control alongside diet and exercise.
Glimepiride stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin, while metformin improves insulin sensitivity and reduces glucose production by the liver, together lowering blood sugar more effectively than either medicine used alone, and helping reduce the risk of diabetes-related kidney and nerve damage over time.
Take this tablet as prescribed with your first main meal, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and keep to regular mealtimes, since skipping food after a dose increases the risk of low blood sugar.
Tell your doctor about any kidney, liver or heart problems, and mention any planned surgery or contrast imaging, as metformin may need to be paused. Learn to recognise low blood sugar symptoms, such as sweating, shakiness or confusion, and keep a fast-acting sugar source with you.
