Dexoderm NF Cream is used to treat inflamed skin complicated by a bacterial or fungal infection, such as infected eczema, dermatitis and infected rashes. It calms irritated skin while clearing the underlying infection.
It contains clobetasol propionate, a corticosteroid that reduces redness, itching and swelling, together with itraconazole (an antifungal) and ofloxacin and ornidazole (antimicrobial agents) that clear the fungi and bacteria causing the infection.
Keeping the affected area clean and dry, wearing loose breathable clothing over the treated skin, and avoiding scratching can help this medicine work more effectively.
Avoid using it on the face or under airtight dressings unless your doctor advises, as this can increase side effects. Because it contains a steroid, avoid prolonged use. Tell your doctor about any other skin treatments you are using before starting.
