CompositionClindaren Gel 20gm is a medicine applied to the skin, used to treat acne (pimples) on the face and body. It is a combination medicine containing clindamycin, an antibiotic that acts against acne-causing bacteria, and nicotinamide, a form of vitamin B3 that helps control oil and reduce skin inflammation, and belongs to a class of medicines called topical anti-acne preparations.
This medicine works by reducing the bacteria that cause acne while calming redness and swelling and limiting excess oil on the skin, which helps reduce pimples, blackheads and whiteheads. Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin as prescribed, avoiding the eyes, nose and mouth.
Gentle skin care supports treatment. Use a mild, non-comedogenic cleanser and moisturiser, avoid squeezing or picking at spots, and apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen during the day.
Before using this medicine, tell your doctor about any previous allergic reactions to antibiotics or skin products. Stop using it and consult your doctor if you develop severe redness, peeling or irritation, or severe watery diarrhoea. Use it only for the time your doctor advises, as unnecessary antibiotic use can lead to antibiotic resistance.
