Clavix Tablet is used to prevent blood clots in people at risk of heart attack or stroke, and in those with atherosclerosis, peripheral arterial disease or unstable angina. It is a single-ingredient antiplatelet medicine containing clopidogrel.
It is a long-term protective medicine for people with cardiovascular disease. Swallow it whole in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop it without medical advice, as stopping suddenly can greatly increase the risk of a clot or stent blockage.
Because it reduces blood clotting, avoid unnecessary injury by using a soft toothbrush and taking care with sharp objects. Tell any doctor, dentist or pharmacist that you take it before any procedure.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have bleeding problems, stomach ulcers, liver disease or planned surgery, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. It is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Report unusual or heavy bleeding. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
