Betnovate GM Cream is a medicine used to treat various skin conditions including eczema, dermatitis, and certain bacterial and fungal skin infections associated with inflammation. It contains a potent corticosteroid, an antibiotic, and an antifungal agent to reduce inflammation and control infection.
Apply a thin layer to the affected skin area as prescribed. Avoid applying to large body areas, and do not use for prolonged periods without medical supervision. Do not apply to the face or skin folds unless directed by your doctor. Discontinue use once symptoms improve unless advised otherwise.
Keeping the affected skin clean and dry supports healing. Use gentle, fragrance-free cleansers; pat skin dry carefully; avoid harsh soaps and irritating products; wear cotton clothing that allows skin to breathe; and avoid scratching affected areas which can spread infection or worsen inflammation.
Before using this medicine, inform your doctor if you have rosacea, acne, or are planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. Do not use on infected skin without medical advice. Inform your doctor if symptoms do not improve after one week or if new areas of skin become affected. Avoid covering treated areas with airtight dressings unless directed. Do not use a steroid-containing combination for uncomplicated ringworm or another fungal infection unless specifically directed, because the steroid can mask or worsen infection.
