Bdletro 2.5 MG Tablet 10 is used to treat hormone-sensitive breast cancer in women who have been through the menopause. It helps lower the level of oestrogen in the body, which can slow or stop the growth of cancers that depend on this hormone, and helps reduce the risk of the cancer returning.
It contains letrozole, which belongs to a group of medicines called aromatase inhibitors. It is used in early breast cancer, as continued treatment after tamoxifen, and in locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer. Take it as prescribed by your doctor and continue for the full course advised by your specialist.
As this medicine can affect the bones, weight-bearing activity and a diet with enough calcium and vitamin D may be advised, along with bone density checks. Your doctor may also monitor your cholesterol.
Tell your doctor about any bone thinning (osteoporosis), liver problems, or raised cholesterol before starting, and about other medicines you take. This medicine is only for women who have been through the menopause and must not be used in pregnancy. Report severe bone pain, mood changes or unusual swelling.
