AZI 200mg Oral Suspension is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections in children, such as ear infections (otitis media), throat infections (tonsillitis) and chest infections (bronchitis). It contains azithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic.
Azithromycin works by stopping bacteria from producing the proteins they need to grow and multiply, which helps eliminate the infection while reducing associated symptoms in children.
Give this suspension to your child using the measuring device provided, at the dose your doctor prescribes based on age and weight, as prescribed, and complete the full course even if your child feels better early.
Tell your doctor if your child has a known allergy to macrolide antibiotics or a heart rhythm problem. Report persistent loose motions (diarrhoea), vomiting, or a rash developing during treatment.
