It contains amlodipine and atenolol, which belong to groups of medicines called calcium channel blockers and beta-blockers. Amlodipine relaxes the blood vessels, while atenolol slows the heart rate and reduces its oxygen demand. Take it daily at the same time, with or without food, and do not stop it suddenly, as this can cause a sharp rise in heart rate or chest pain.
