Ambix 500 Injection 2ml is used to manage the following conditions:

• Severe urinary tract infections

• Bone and joint infections

• Respiratory tract infections like pneumonia

• CNS infections like meningitis

• Bloodstream infections like septicaemia

• Intra-abdominal infections

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• The injection can be administered either intravenously (into a vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle), based on the doctor's instruction by a healthcare professional.

Ambix 500 Injection 2ml contains amikacin (500 mg) as the active ingredient. It works in the human body in the following manner:

• Amikacin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding itself to the 30S ribosomal subunit of the bacteria. This effectively stops the bacteria from multiplying.

• Instead of merely halting bacterial growth, amikacin goes a step further by killing the bacteria altogether. This action is known as bactericidal activity.

• Always store Ambix 500 Injection 2ml vials below 25°C.

• Keep the product away from direct light.

• Avoid exposing the injection to excessive heat or cold.

• Always store this medicine out of reach of children.

• Use the medicine before the expiry date mentioned on the packaging.

• If you are managing a urinary tract infection, ensure you stay well hydrated. Drinking plenty of fluids can help flush bacteria out of your system.
