Acloriv 5 % Cream 5 GM

Acloriv 5 % Cream 5 GM is used to relieve skin symptoms associated with shingles, including pain, itching, and blister formation. Applied directly to affected areas, it helps soothe irritation and supports the natural healing process of herpes zoster rashes. Regular application as advised helps reduce discomfort and promotes recovery of the affected skin.

• Ensure your hands and the affected area are clean before application.
• Apply a thin layer of this medicine to the affected area as directed by your doctor.
• Make sure you only apply it on your face and lips and not inside your mouth, nose or eyes.
• After applying, wash your hands well to prevent spreading the virus to other parts of your body or to others.

Acloriv 5 % Cream 5 GM is applied topically.

Acloriv 5 % Cream 5 GM contains aciclovir (5%), which carries out its function as follows:

• Conversion to Aciclovir Monophosphate: When applied to the skin, aciclovir is converted into aciclovir monophosphate by an enzyme called viral thymidine kinase.
• Further Conversion to Aciclovir Triphosphate: Next, the aciclovir monophosphate gets further converted into aciclovir triphosphate.
• Inhibition of Viral DNA Polymerase: The triphosphate form competes with and inactivates an enzyme called viral DNA polymerase.
• Prevents Viral DNA Synthesis: By inhibiting viral DNA polymerase, aciclovir prevents the synthesis and replication of viral DNA.

• Keep Acloriv 5 % Cream 5 GM in a cool place, ideally below 25°C.
• Protect it from light and moisture to maintain its effectiveness.
• Remember to keep the cream out of sight and reach of children.
• Once opened, use the cream within one month to avoid contamination.

• To help manage cold sores, avoid foods that trigger outbreaks. These might include high-salt or acidic foods like crisps or citrus fruits, which can irritate cold sores.
• Try to reduce stress levels as stress can trigger herpes simplex virus flare-ups. Relaxation techniques such as yoga or deep-breathing exercises could help.
