Abrofyl 50 MG Syrup 100 ML is used to clear chest congestion and ease breathing in children and adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and bronchitis. It is especially helpful when a cough is ""stuck"", meaning the mucus is too thick to cough out and the chest feels tight. It acts as both a lung-opener and a mucus-dissolver.
This syrup contains Acebrophylline, a specialised molecule that acts as a ""mucoregulator."" It works by relaxing the smooth muscles of the bronchial tubes (opening the airways) and simultaneously reducing the stickiness of the mucus. It also has mild anti-inflammatory properties, which help reduce the underlying swelling in the lungs that causes airway inflammation.
Measure the dose carefully as prescribed, usually twice daily after meals. Ensure the patient drinks plenty of warm fluids, which helps the medicine thin the mucus more effectively. Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart rhythm problems or liver disease. If the patient experiences a sudden increase in shortness of breath, seek medical attention immediately.
