Zylopred Eye Drops are used for inflamed eye conditions with infection risk.

Uses of Zylopred Eye Drops are:

• Eye Inflammation: Reduces redness, swelling and irritation of the eye.
• Bacterial Eye Infection: Helps clear or prevent bacterial infection.
• Eye Discomfort: Eases discomfort from infected, inflamed eyes.

Here's how you should use Zylopred Eye Drops:

• Wash your hands thoroughly before each use.

• Shake the bottle well before using the drops.

• Gently pull down your lower eyelid to form a 'pocket', then squeeze out one or two drops into this 'pocket'.

• Close your eyes for a few minutes, without blinking or squinting.

• Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination.

• Replace the cap after each use.

• Continue using for the full duration prescribed by your doctor, even if symptoms improve earlier.

• Do not discontinue abruptly without consulting your doctor.

Zylopred Eye Drops is instilled topically.

Zylopred Eye Drops are formulated with three active ingredients:

• Gatifloxacin (0.3 %): This is a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic that interferes with bacterial DNA replication and cell division by inhibiting enzymes known as DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. The result is a broad-spectrum activity against many types of eye pathogens.

• Loteprednol (0.5 %): A type of corticosteroid, loteprednol binds to glucocorticoid receptors within cells and inhibits the production of inflammation-causing substances like prostaglandins and leukotrienes. This effectively reduces inflammation, redness, pain, and swelling in the eyes.

• Benzalkonium chloride (0.005 %): An antimicrobial preservative that helps prevent contamination of the eye drop solution. It also enhances penetration and wetting effects on the eye surface.

• Store Zylopred Eye Drops upright in a cool, dry place at 2° to 25°C.

• Be sure to keep it away from direct sunlight and don't let it freeze.

• Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.

• If you have an eye infection, try to avoid environments that are dusty or smoky, as these can further irritate your eyes.

• Maintain good hygiene practices such as washing your hands frequently and avoiding touching your eyes to help manage bacterial eye infections.
