Zylocef T 250/31.25 MG Injection 1 consists of two active ingredients:

• Ceftriaxone (250 mg): This component is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that has bactericidal activity. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It binds to proteins in the bacteria which are responsible for forming the cell wall (known as penicillin-binding proteins or PBPs), disrupting their function and leading to the death of the bacteria.
• Tazobactam (31.25 mg): This component acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor which protects ceftriaxone from being broken down by certain enzymes produced by resistant bacteria.
