By making the blood less likely to clot, it lowers the risk of serious conditions such as deep vein thrombosis, clots in the lungs (pulmonary embolism), and stroke linked with an irregular heartbeat. It is also used after heart valve surgery.
It contains Warfarin 2mg Tablet 10, an anticoagulant (blood thinner). Take it as prescribed exactly as prescribed. Your doctor will arrange regular blood tests to check how quickly your blood clots and may adjust your dose. Do not stop or change the dose without medical advice, and tell any doctor or dentist that you take it.
Keep the amount of vitamin-K-rich foods, such as green leafy vegetables, steady rather than making sudden large changes, as they affect how the medicine works. Limit alcohol, and check with your doctor before starting any new medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any bleeding problems, stomach ulcers, liver problems, or upcoming surgery, or are taking other medicines. Report any unusual bruising or bleeding, black stools, blood in the urine, or a severe headache. It is not suitable during pregnancy.
