Velnate Tablet 10

Velnate Tablet 10 is used to control high phosphate levels in the blood in adults with chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis. It helps maintain strong bones by reducing phosphate build-up and lowers the risk of heart disease and stroke associated with elevated phosphate levels. It is also used to manage hyperphosphatemia (excessive phosphate in the blood) in patients receiving hemodialysis.

Follow these instructions while taking Velnate Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water during meals.
• Do not crush, chew, split, or break the tablet.
• Check the expiry date of the medicine before taking it.
• Always consult your doctor before changing your dose or stopping the medicine.

Velnate Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Velnate Tablet 10 contains sevelamer (400 mg) that functions in the body as follows:

• Phosphate binding: Sevelamer binds dietary phosphate in the gastrointestinal tract, preventing its absorption into the bloodstream. This action subsequently reduces blood phosphate levels.
• Cholesterol reduction: Apart from controlling phosphate levels, sevelamer also reduces serum LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol levels.

• Store Velnate Tablet 10 in a cool, dry place. The ideal storage temperature is room temperature below 30°C.
• Protect the tablet from heat and moisture.
• Keep it out of reach and sight of children.
• Always use the tablet before its expiry date.
