Vasograin Ec Tablet 20 is used to treat acute migraine attacks. It is a combination medicine containing ergotamine and caffeine. It belongs to the classes of medicines called antimigraine agents and methylxanthines.
This medicine may also be prescribed for certain migraine variants or vascular headaches as advised by your doctor. Ergotamine acts on serotonin receptors and constricts dilated blood vessels involved in migraine, while caffeine enhances the effects and absorption of ergotamine, helping relieve migraine symptoms.
Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, preferably at the first sign of a migraine attack. Do not exceed the prescribed dose or use it continuously for prolonged periods unless specifically advised by your doctor, as excessive use may increase the risk of serious circulation-related effects and ergot toxicity.
Tell your doctor if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, circulation problems, liver or kidney disease, or epilepsy. Do not take this medicine during pregnancy. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop chest pain, severe weakness, marked numbness or tingling, cold or discoloured fingers or toes, breathing difficulty or other symptoms suggesting reduced blood flow.
