Ursodec Oral Suspension 100 ML is used for the following:

• Dissolving cholesterol gallstones in the gallbladder

• Managing non-calcified gallstones

• Treatment of primary biliary cirrhosis

• Protecting liver cells from damage

• Improving liver enzyme levels in liver disorders

• Prevention of new gallstone formation

• Reducing cholesterol in bile

Follow these instructions while taking Ursodec Oral Suspension 100 ML:

• Shake the bottle well before use.

• Use the measuring cup provided to measure the correct dose.

Ursodec Oral Suspension 100 ML is taken orally.

Ursodec Oral Suspension 100 ML contains ursodeoxycholic acid (125 mg per 5 ml), which works on the body as follows:

• Decreases cholesterol absorption: Ursodeoxycholic acid reduces how much cholesterol your intestines absorb, which helps create less concentrated bile.

• Reduces hepatic cholesterol synthesis: It slows down the production of cholesterol in your liver, further helping to create less lithogenic (stone-forming) bile.

• Decreases cholesterol secretion: The medicine lowers the amount of cholesterol released into your bile, making it less likely for stones to form.

• Provides cytoprotection: It protects liver cells by replacing more harmful bile acids with its gentler, less toxic structure, reducing damage to liver cells and bile duct lining.
