It contains Atorvastatin, which belongs to the class of medications known as statins. It works by inhibiting the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme in the liver, which plays a central role in the production of "bad" cholesterol (LDL).

This medication helps improve the overall lipid profile by also lowering triglycerides and slightly increasing "good" cholesterol (HDL). The treatment provides long-term protection against the buildup of plaque in the blood vessels.
