Torsevue Plus Tablet 15 contains two active ingredients that work together to manage oedema and high blood pressure:

• Spironolactone (50 mg): This is a potassium-sparing diuretic, which means it helps your body get rid of excess water and sodium while preventing too much potassium from being lost. It does this by blocking the effects of a hormone called aldosterone in a part of your kidneys called the distal renal tubules.
• Torsemide (10 mg): This ingredient is a loop diuretic. It works on a part of your kidneys known as the loop of Henle, preventing the reabsorption of sodium and chloride. This action prompts your kidneys to get rid of more water, sodium, chloride, and other substances through your urine.

Together, these two ingredients increase urine production and reduce excess fluid in your body. Spironolactone's ability to spare potassium helps balance the loss of potassium that can occur with torsemide.
